How reminders and overdue alerts work

Exactly who gets emailed, and when.

← All help articles

Before the expiration date

  • The first reminder goes out on the schedule you chose for that requirement (7, 30, 60 or 90 days before).
  • Follow-up reminders go out 7 days before, 1 day before, and on the day it expires.
  • Reminders go to the employee (or the responsible person for company items), and your account admins are copied.

After it expires

  • Reminders continue once a week until a new document is approved.
  • Overdue alerts go to your whole team once something has been overdue for the number of days you set on the Team page.

When reminders stop

  • As soon as an employee uploads a renewal (while it waits for your review).
  • When an item is paused or marked “Renewal in progress”.
  • When an employee is deactivated.

Weekly summary

Every Monday morning, account owners get one summary email: what’s overdue, what’s due in the next 30 days, and what’s waiting for review. You can turn it off from the link at the bottom of the email.

Still stuck? Email support@duelantern.com and you’ll hear back from a real person.
